A degree in business provides many advantages. Some of the benefits of getting a business degree include an increase in income that comes with earning a degree, the ability to qualify for more jobs, and gaining networking resources. One of the most obvious benefits of earning a business degree, such as an MBA, is an increase in your income. A degree in business often pays for itself after a few years of increased income. An individual can enjoy a good return on investment when earning a business degree. When you earn an MBA, you can expect your income to rise considerably. A 2010 survey conducted on PayScale.com showed that the average salary for a employee with a B.A. was around $57,000, but employees who had Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degrees made on average $27,000 per year more. That is a significant increase in income.

Another reason one might consider earning a business degree would be the ability to qualify for more jobs. If you earn a Bachelor’s degree in business, you can have a better opportunity of finding higher paying employment. Individuals who earn MBAs are in very high demand. If you earn a degree in business while you are at your current job, you can choose whether you’d like to stay with the company and have an opportunity to advance, or you can look around for other employment. No matter what your career, a business degree can help you be able to advance to a managerial position.

While you are actually attending college, you will meet a lot of new people. These new people could potentially be those whom you are able to work for or with. These relationships can be very important down the road. Since a business school encourages teamwork, it’s quite common to bond with classmates. This bond can last throughout a career or even a lifetime. When your classmates find a new job, they may be able to mention your name to their employees and help you to get a desirable job.
