The required application process for graduate school is time-consuming and tiring, and unfortunately there is a random element in it, since ultimately it is the admissions department that makes decisions on who will join the program. However, there exist some things within your control, and it is your responsibility to make those benefit you a lot.

2 – Get a high grade on your standardized exams
Almost all Grad programs need a standardized exam. In most graduate programs, the GRE is required. To get into a top tier university, high marks are helpful, but they are not the main deciding factor. This will be facilitated when you use study books, and you can find such a GRE book online.
3 – Work on Some Research Projects
Although it is quite enticing to spend most of your time receiving top marks in your classes, most other people who have submitted applications to same university will also have top grades. You must differentiate yourself from others, which is accomplished by spending time working on small ventures. Open your own company. Get involved with research projects.
